Pat Garvey

Pat Garvey is the drummer with Ozric Tentacles and over the past decade has become one of the UK's most prominent player/educators. He has written over 300 articles for various drum magazines, including iDrum Magazine and the iconic Rhythm Magazine. He's also Head of Drums at BIMM University, giving talks and demonstrations internationally, and is a published author all while running The Brighton Drum School. Students come from all over the world to study with him, some of whom have gone on to play with some of the most recognisable artists in the world, with a great many more working successfully in the creative industries worldwide.

As well as playing with the iconic Ozric Tentacles, over the past 27 years as a sideman he’s performed internationally and worked with artists as diverse as Tim Booth (James), David Cross (King Crimson), Noel Redding (Jimi Hendrix), prog overlords Lonely Robot, Fischer Z, David Jackson (Van der Graaf Generator), The Prototypes, and his drums can be heard all over TV & radio the year round.

As an artist his first album ‘Lawless’ was released in 2010 to critical acclaim, and was later turned into a drumless play-along book, first published in 2015. His second album ‘The Trans-Rhythmic Highway’ is due for release in 2024 and he also runs a remote drum recording service from his studio in Brighton, on the South Coast.
