Jimi Hendrix

Credited as one of the most influential musicians of the modern era, Jimi Hendrix took inspiration from jazz, rock and the blues. He never learnt to read or write music, making his legendary career that much more impressive. He started his career playing with acts like Tina Turner and Little Richard before going out on his own. The Jimi Hendrix Experience caused a buzz in the UK in the mid 60’s with their first single spending a whopping 10 weeks in the charts and when he returned to America in the summer of ’67, he became an overnight success. He continued to enjoy a busy touring schedule until his untimely death in 1970. His final works were released posthumously in 1997.
